Best of DC Ballot Party & Restaurant Week

February 24, 2009

Last Thursday, we attended an awesome party at Lounge 201 where they offered free drinks and free dinner. All we had to do was to fill out survey forms for best restaurants and places for art and services in DC. We managed to fill out probably about half of the categories. I think it was good for the newbies like us.

Last week was also Restaurant Week in DC. We chose to go to Me Jana for Lebanese food and Tallula for American food. Both of them were 5 out of 5 excellent restaurants. Me Jana had the best chicken kabob we’ve ever tasted. The chicken was so tender and juicy with just the right amount of flavor. We went to Tallula with my co-workers and their husbands. We had their specialty: scallops, steak and passion fruit dessert. OMG! I usually don’t like steak but this one was so lean and it was marinated to the fullest flavor. I love Restaurant Week. A three-course lunch is $20 and dinner is $35 at a high-end restaurant. I can’t wait for another one in a few months.
